This is a senior level managerial role in the insurance sector for a national direct P&C insurer. Working in the Calgary office, you will use your strong leadership & commitment to professional quality to lead a team of litigators.
You will serve as lead council on high caliber cases while leading and engaging the entire legal department to meet or exceed internal and external expectations.
This role has defined advancement into an executive level position through succession. Bringing solid advocacy & problem solving skills as well as sound judgment and forecasting you will be rewarded through the growth of the company.
A background in insurance litigation is essential. You will also be involved in communicating with internal and external clients and all levels of management so strong communication skills will be required.

Required Qualifications & Experience
The incumbent will possess a recognized LL.B. or J.D. degree and hold affiliation with the Law Society of Alberta.
Candidates must have at least 10 years of exposure to the insurance sector working with high profile firms in Canada and the ability to lead an established team of lawyers. Previous managerial experience will be considered a strong asset.
