Job Overview
This is a high ranking opportunity in our client's Power Transmission department to oversee projects ranging as high as $100M.  Due to unprecedented growth, even in these economic times, they have created this senior management role to aid the development of their power transmission business into new frontiers.

You’ll be responsible for everything from estimating & preconstruction services through to the organization, planning & execution of projects.  This will include effective project management and operation of the work crews. 

Working closely with the VP of Operations you will build upon existing marketing and business development plans, identifying, pursuing and securing new Transmission business.  You will target owners, consultants and direct clients to build on an already established reputation for quality & value. 

You’ll also be responsible for planning and executing existing transmission projects keeping a focus on optimizing profitability.  This will require effective project management, risk management, costing, scheduling and administration skills.  You’ll be looked upon to think outside-the-box on projects, recommending innovative methods, materials, equipment and work practices.

As an industry veteran you will have the inside scoop on industry developments such as the changing labour market, legislation, regulations, insurance issues and other project risks.

With a tireless focus on team building you’ll be expected to foster a team spirit and camaraderie with your staff to optimize performance and employee involvement.

Job Requirements
Professional Engineer’s certification or IP certification in the Powerline or Power Systems Engineer trade

15 years or more of experience blending field & office responsibilities

An extremely strong awareness of the power transmission industry and technological & operational innovations

A natural tendency to lead a team by being a part of the team

Exceptional communication & business development skills

Professional & warm interpersonal skills with the ability to build lasting relationships with customers, management, co-workers and subordinates
